“The Witcher” is back! That's one reason to look forward to this weekend's streaming drops.
We also have a pair of heavy science fiction dramas, romantic Christmas fare, and some animated fun.

But we know what you want first. Toss a coin to your What to Watcher as we get things started.
Once Netflix found they had a hit in “The Witcher,” they jumped onto the show’s runaway popularity with a well-received animated movie. Now, at long last, comes the second season.
There are more monsters and more intrigue this time around. The scope of the Witcher universe is expanded via new insight to just how humans, elves and monsters all came to inhabit the world. Meanwhile, Henry Cavill’s Geralt settles into fatherhood of a sort. Get ready for an even deeper, darker season of “The Witcher.” Premieres Friday on Netflix.
Not to be confused with this year’s critically acclaimed Udo Kier vehicle of the same name, “Swan Song” is a science fiction drama starring Mahershala Ali, Naomie Harris, Glenn Close and Awkwafina.
When a father (Ali) learns he has a terminal illness, he’s presented with an option — replace himself with a clone. But is that a good idea? Probably not, but it makes good drama. Premieres Friday on Apple TV+.
In this dystopian drama, androids have turned against humanity. Chloe Grace Moretz stars as a pregnant woman who embarks on a dangerous journey with her boyfriend (Algee Smith) to reach a human enclave in Boston, so she can safely give birth.
As seen in the trailer, the clock is ticking and there’s no human help along the way. It looks like a frightening, intense film. Premieres Friday on Hulu.
With all due respect to Hello Kitty, Keroppi, and even Gudetama fans, the best Sanrio character is Retsuko, a red panda working as a cubicle jockey, who gets out her stress singing death metal karaoke after hours.
Fortunately, Aggretsuko is back for another season. This time, there’s a new boss, and he’s got a very different way of running things. This won’t make life any less stressful for Retsuko and her co-workers, but it’ll bring all of us some laughs. Currently streaming on Netflix.
We aren’t always fans of frothy romantic comedies here at What to Watch HQ, but Prime Video’s “With Love” has a pedigree we can’t ignore. It’s the latest series from Gloria Calderon Kellett, who gave us the wonderful, much-missed “One Day at a Time” reboot.
Her new series centers on a pair of siblings both looking for love around the holidays. If this show has even a fraction of the heart and humor “One Day at a Time” possessed, then we’ll find ourselves in love “With Love.” Premieres Friday on Prime Video.
So why are we suggesting this upcoming TV movie romcom if we're not fans of the genre? Because even we have to admit the holidays aren't quite the same without all that saccharine stuff. And that's one reason we're interested in CBS' "Christmas Takes Flight."
The other reason is "Scandal" alum Katie Lowes, a delightful actress who stars here as Jenny, an airline pilot. When a new CEO (Evan Williams) comes aboard and axes the company's Christmas benefit for needy children, Jenny tries to change his mind and teach him the true meaning of Christmas. But she just might fall in love! Premieres Sunday at 8 p.m. ET on CBS, streaming after on Paramount+.
As Channing Tatum prepares to play “Magic Mike” one last time, HBO Max has a new reality show searching for the real deal. And they’ve promised it will bare all.
Ten average joes go through a bootcamp in the hopes of being chosen as the real “Magic Mike.” Expect “The Full Monty.” Currently streaming on HBO Max.
If watching regular Joes become high-octane exotic dancers isn’t your thing, HBO Max also has a new post-apocalyptic limited series, if you have the stomach for it. We don’t fault you if you don’t.
Twenty years after a flu pandemic decimates civilization, a group of traveling performers bonded since that fateful time cross paths with a cult, and each must decide where their future lies. Mackenzie Davis (“Halt and Catch Fire”) leads an ensemble cast including Gael Garcia Bernal (“Old”) and Lori Petty (“A League of Their Own”). Currently streaming on HBO Max.
Critics and fans loved this animated comedy about a boy and his malfunctioning robot, featuring the voices of Ed Helms, Zack Galifinakis, Olivia Colman and Justice Smith.
In a town where every kid has a "B-bot," a robot best friend, awkward Barney’s B-bot isn’t quite working as he should. But when he takes a liking to “Ron,” the two end up on the run to save the robot from being destroyed. Currently streaming on Disney+.
Paramount Network’s contemporary Western drama “Yellowstone” has been a big hit, so of course, a spinoff was only a matter of time.
Set over 130 years before “Yellowstone,” “1883” tells the story of how the Dutton family came to Montana. Sam Elliott, Tim McGraw and Faith Hill star, with surprise cameos to come from Billy Bob Thornton and Tom Hanks. Yes, that Tom Hanks.
