Most St. Charles Parish residents who lost power when Hurricane Ida tore through the area can expect to see it restored within four to six weeks, officials said Friday.

Ninety percent of St. Charles Parish residents are on track to regain power during that time frame, the parish said on its Facebook page.

It wasn’t immediately clear when power would be restored to the remaining 10% of residents.

“We understand that Entergy has posted estimated restoration times for the New Orleans Metro area,” the parish wrote, adding that Parish President Matthew Jewell has been “in constant communication with entergy.”

Ida damaged 617 transformers, and broke 2,820 utility poles in the parish, the post noted.

“We will continue to push for additional information from Entergy and provide updates as soon as it becomes available,” the parish added.
