Water safe to drink in Jefferson Parish

You can drink the water in all of Jefferson Parish.

"In conjunction with the Louisiana Department of Health, the Jefferson Parish Water Department is lifting the Boil Water Advisory for the East Bank of Jefferson Parish based on the restoration of pressure within the distribution system and the analysis of the bacteriological samples collected within the distribution system," according to a news release.

JP lifted the Westbank boil advisory yesterday.

"Customers on the East Bank may now use the water without boiling or disinfecting. No more precautionary actions are necessary. Normal water service is expected to be maintained from this time forward."

Grand Isle remains under a boil water advisory.
