Tool frontman Maynard James Keenan made a bold statement on stage during this past weekend’s Welcome to Rockville festival in Daytona Beach, Florida, slipping into an on-stage get-up likely aimed directly at the state’s governor, Ron DeSantis.

If nothing else, Tool frontman Maynard James Keenan sure loves a good outfit. Although he's historically kept himself somewhat hidden toward the back of the stage during his performances with the group, he more often than not dons a stage get-up for some reason or other. From full riot gear to wild and colorful mohawks; masks, bras, and pigtails with three-piece suits, the enigmatic artist always keeps fans guessing when performing with all of his projects, including A Perfect Circle and Puscifer.
But with a recent series of bills signed by Florida governor and likely Republican presidential nominee Ron DeSantis last week, which among other severely restrictive measures bars minors from attending drag shows, the guesswork wasn't quite needed.
At this weekend's all-ages Welcome To Rockville fest, Keenan broke out his breasts, wig, and make-up for Tool's first set of the year, making him technically in violation of the new law.
Although no mention of his outfit was made, was there really any need to? Actions, they say, speak louder than words -- and Tool's got some of the loudest of both currently on full display.
The band is next scheduled to perform at Sonic Temple in Columbus, OH; Louder Than Life in Louisville, KY; Aftershock in Sacramento, CA; and Power Trip in Indio, CA. Tickets to those upcoming shows are available HERE.
