As NFL Week 5 approaches, the potential for profitable parlay picks is ripe with intrigue. This weekend, we’re eyeing a parlay featuring the Jets, Browns, and Bengals, each poised for a significant performance despite the public's varied perceptions. The Jets are fresh off a disappointing loss, but they face a popular Minnesota Vikings team riding high after a key victory. Meanwhile, the Browns look to shake off their recent struggles against a hype-driven Washington Commanders squad. Lastly, the Bengals aim to capitalize on their underdog status against the momentum-filled Ravens. This parlay not only offers tantalizing odds but also the chance to capitalize on the public's sentiments.
Jets ML + Browns ML + Bengals ML (+1059, BetMGM)
Three of the sharpest plays this NFL weekend, all parlayed together. Can the public suffer this much, or will one of these teams crumble?
The Jets are coming off of a really pathetic loss to the Denver Broncos, where they allowed rookie quarterback Bo Nix to beat them throwing less than 100 yards in the game. Minnesota is coming off of an impressive win over the Green Bay Packers in Lambeau. These teams are going in opposite directions when they meet in London. No team in the NFL has gotten more total tickets on them to win this weekend than the undefeated 4-0 Minnesota Vikings. Everyone and their brother is betting on the Vikings, so what could possibly go wrong?
While the Vikings may be the most popular team this weekend, I don’t think there is a team that is getting more headlines than the Washinton Commanders. Every social media savant has been blasting them all over our feeds all week, talking about how Jayden Daniels is the greatest thing since sliced bread and the Commanders are the hype of the NFL. Now, they are facing the severely unpopular Deshaun Watson and the Cleveland Browns, who just lost outright to the Las Vegas Raiders. How many people do you think are betting on the Browns to win this game? I’ll answer that for you, it is a very small amount, including myself.
Now that the Ravens have won two games in a row, including the destruction of the Buffalo Bills last weekend 35-10, it seems that the public has jumped back on their bandwagon. It is time to sell high on the Ravens off of those two wins, and take the Cincinnati Bengals. They are coming off of a one-score win against the Carolina Panthers, which was not very impressive in the public square, so clearly Lamar Jackson is going to rip them up. I think this will be a high-scoring affair with the home team coming out on top.
Longshot Lay of the Week: Jets ML + Bengals ML + Texans ML + Rams ML (+2113)
I already explained the Jets and Bengals picks. Houston is facing a very public Buffalo team that is coming off of that blowout loss to the Ravens. Most will think this is a bounce back spot against the Texans, who just barely beat the Jaguars last weekend and have not covered a single spread this season. The Bills are also dealing with a ton of injuries, but despite that, over 60 percent of bets are on their side here. I think Houston gets the win.
Los Angeles just lost outright to the Chicago Bears last week, and the media has told everyone that Caleb Williams sucks, so that must mean that the Rams are terrible. While they are 1-3 and have their issues, they still have Sean McVay and Matthew Stafford. Green Bay is coming off of a loss to the surprising Minnesota Vikings, where they allowed Sam Darnold to rip them apart, and they were down 28-7 at halftime. They clamped down in the second half, but Jordan Love also threw three interceptions in that game. Still, the perception is that he and the Packers are a far better team. I would not count out the Rams at home here, who are live to win this game.
