A search for a father continues after his wife and daughter were found in the rubble of condo that collapsed in Florida last week.
Angela Gonzalez and her teenage daughter, Deven, were rescued from the site where the Champlain Towers fell in Miami-Dade County.
A GoFundMe page has pulled in more than $95,000 in donations from a community of supporters after it was set up by family and friends.
"My daughter played volleyball with Deven and I set this up as a way to help the family," Kim Kaplan Marchena tells People. "We didn't do it to get [media] attention, we just wanted to help."
Gonzalez suffered a broken pelvis after the tower came tumbling down in the middle of the night in Surfside, Florida on June 24, People reports.
Gonzalez and her daughter plunged four floors, from the ninth to the fifth, according to WFOR. They were among the first survivors to be heroically rescued from the destruction.
Deven, a Miami Senior High School varsity volleyball player who hopes to be a college and professional player one day, has undergone surgery for a broken leg. Gonzalez, who works as a mental health provider for underserved communities, has been intubated while she recovers, the GoFundMe page says.
"They are letting her sleep so her body can concentrate on healing," the page wrote. "She is responsive when asked questions so that is great news."
"They believe she will make [a] long but full recovery. They are both truly miracles."
Gonzalez’s oldest daughter, Taylor, was not in the building at the time. She has stayed by her sister’s side while she waits for news on her father, Edgar, a Miami-Dade attorney, along with their dog, Daisy.
“Taylor is a champ! She has so much to process, yet has been so strong for her family," the page says. "She has been a comfort for Deven/Angela. She has taken on the caregiver role for her sister... Taylor is managing everything with so much strength."
On Wednesday, Miami-Dade County Mayor Daniella Levine Cava said that the death toll has risen to 16 people. Another 147 people remain missing, while 139 people have been accounted for.
