Joan Collins revealed that she has been vaccinated against COVID-19.
The 87-year-old “Dynasty” star took to Instagram to share her experience along with a photo of herself in a floral print face mask getting the shot at a doctor's office in London.
She explained that she was “delighted” to get the AstraZeneca vaccine, which was approved in the U.K. in December. While the United States has approved the Pfizer and Moderna vaccines, it has yet to approve AstraZeneca.
The British icon also called her vaccination a “painless and seamless procedure.”
She even boasted that it was done on the “same day as our queen" in reference to Queen Elizabeth.
The 94-year-old monarch and her husband, Prince Philip, 99, both got vaccinated on Saturday.
While it's unusual for the palace to reveal private medical details, a spokesperson revealed that the "decision was taken by Her Majesty to let it be known to prevent inaccuracies and further speculation.”
Collins told her followers that she would also appear on "Good Morning Britain" on Monday to share more details of her vaccination experience. In her post, she urged others to get the vaccine by using the hashtag #RegisterNow.
The U.K. is currently prioritizing citizens 80 and up who are considered high-risk along with nursing home residents and staff.
Other celebrities that have also gotten vaccinated include “Lord of the Rings” actor Ian McKellen. The 81-year-old said he felt “very lucky to have had the vaccine" in December. He added that he “would have no hesitation in recommending it to anyone.”
In an interview with iTV news, the “X-Men” actor praised the National Health Service, sharing that “next time I come, well, no, six days after I next time come I’m going to give them all a big hug — is that allowed?”
