His group, Santana, released their self-titled debut that same year, which features their forever fan-favorite "Evil Ways." The momentum continued through the group's next two albums, 1970’s Abraxas and 1971’s Santana III, which boasted hits like "Black Magic Woman," "Oye Como Va" and "Everybody's Everything."

On 1999's Supernatural. Carlos worked with a number of contemporary artists and found himself back in the number 1 position with his Rob Thomas collaboration "Smooth," as well as his Wyclef Jean collab, "Maria Maria," while the album itself took home nine GRAMMYs that year, including Album of the Year.

It’s worth mentioning that since his 1969 debut, he’s dropped 26 albums, including his latest, 2021’s Blessings and Miracles, which also features collaborations with guests including Matchbox Twenty’s Rob Thomas again with an updated version of “Smooth,” as well as Diane Warren, Steve Winwood, and Metallica's Kirk Hammett.
