Ya’ll know the saying, Disney World, it’s the happiest place on earth. Well, this week American Idol contestants headed there (in spirit of course) for Disney Night. And since watching it had us smiling from ear to ear, we’d have to say that’s an affirmative, it’s a happy place, even if you aren’t physically there.

After going on brief hiatus last week for the Oscars, the reality singing competition returned on Sunday with a live show that saw the Top remaining contestants perform songs from Disney movies.

Before they individually enchanted us, they all started the evening off together, taking us on a magic carpet ride, alongside Disney Channel and Freeform star, Sofia Carson with a magical performance of “A Whole New World.”

Oh and don’t for one second think the contestants were the only ones participating in all the fun. After all this is a reality singing competition, and as usual, the singers had to get feedback from judges Luke BryanLionel Richie and Katy Perry, who to absolutely nobody's surprise, absolutely slayed the night's theme by dressing as Tinker Bell from Peter Pan.

No only was KP repping the night’s theme with her costume, but also took some notes and borrowed some parts from her man’s magic movie past.

During a virtual Q&A after the show, Perry opened up about the inspiration behind her costume, revealing she borrowed her prosthetic ears from her fiancé Orlando Bloom, who if you didn’t already know, played Legolas in Lord of the Rings.

"I just love that she has a little bit of sass and a sense of humor," the singer said of Tinker Bell. "She's always kind of scrappy, and so I resonate with that character. I'm always wanting to be playful and believe in magic and find the best in every single person.”

Katy also took to IG to share a little behind the scenes peak into the process of the prostheses, and just as her costume, her caption was also on point, “legolas’ gf flyin in hot with a pouch full of pixie dust to throw on anyone who doesn’t believe we have the best top 10 in @americanidol history #disneynight..."

Besides KP serving looks, the evening was and is after all… about the music. From Pinocchio’s “When You Wish Upon A Star,” and Lion King’s “Circle of Life," to “Go The Distance” from Hercules, and “A Dream Is A Wish Your Makes” from Cinderella - all the classics were on the menu and the judges ate it up.

Happiest place on earth aside, and despite all the amazing performances throughout the evening, cuts had to be made, because dems the rules. Three contestant we’re eliminated, Alyssa Wray, Deshawn Goncalves and Casandra Coleman were all voted off and just like with the swish of a wand the Top 10 turned to the Top 7.

American Idol is set to return Sunday May 9 at 8 ET with a Mother's Day episode, focusing on the music of Coldplay, and Chris Martin will serve as a guest mentor.
