In the new clip, the Green Day boys can be seen in the back of teacher Hannibal Buress’ high school classroom as the rest of their peers share their summer vacation stories. Billie Joe Armstrong, Tré Cool, and Mike Dirnt then get their chance, offering up a homemade VHS video as their report. On the tape, we see Mike Dirnt’s red Corvette stolen by Billie Joe and Tré, but he manages to get it back with Hamill's help. The dastardly duo then promises to “boost it back,” with the clip ending in an epic toy car chase and desert game of chicken.

“Rev up those engines, the ‘Corvette Summer’ music video is here and it’s one wild ride!!” Green Day said in a statement, explaining the concept saying, “the song was named after one of our favorite cult classic movies [the 1978 adventure comedy Corvette Summer], so it only made sense to pay homage to it with the music video.”

“We even took things one step further and got Mark Hamill – who starred in the original – to star in our remake alongside us, Hannibal Buress, and some others,” the band adds. “We blew the entire budget on them, so we had to get creative with cardboard boxes, some duct tape and matchbox cars we found in Tre’s basement. Directed by the dynamic duo Ryan Baxley & Brendan Walter. Buckle up, and enjoy the ride!”

Green Day just wrapped up the UK and European leg of their Saviors stadium tour, and will be making their way across North America starting on July 29. Grab your tickets HERE.
