Red Sox fans will hear a familiar and beloved voice behind the mic Tuesday.
Don Orsillo will be on the call for Red Sox-Braves on TBS, he announced on his Twitter account. Orsillo has been moonlighting for TBS ever since 2007, calling a number of divisional series and national games. Notably, he called the 2018 divisional series between the Astros and Guardians with Dennis Eckersley.
We were reminded of Orsillo’s everlasting popularity in the region last month, when he tweeted the Red Sox scrapped his video tribute for Jerry Remy during their ceremony for him April 20. The late-night missive sparked a day of outrage, even though the Red Sox say Orsillo never recorded an actual video.
Orsillo has been calling games for the Padres ever since leaving NESN at the end of the 2015 season.
