Boston’s top pitching prospect is back with Boston, but it’s because Garrett Whitlock is injured. Whitlock has been diagnosed with right elbow ulnar neuritis, and he was placed on the injured list retroactive to Wednesday.
Neither Bello nor Whitlock have lived up to their hype this season, both posting an ERA north of 6.50 in the early going. In his lone 2023 start with Worcester, Bello tossed six innings of one-run ball.
