There have been plenty of reports about the Celtics trying to move up in Wednesday's NBA draft -- whether to pick a better player for themselves or to flip a top-10 pick in a trade -- but it remains unclear which pick, if any, they might actually be able to acquire.
They've been connected to the Hawks' sixth overall pick, but a new report out of Cleveland suggests the Celtics have aimed even higher than that.
According to Terry Pluto of Cleveland.com, the Celtics have offered the No. 14 pick and another first-round pick (Boston also owns No. 26 and No. 30) to the Cavaliers for the No. 5 overall pick.
If the Celtics are targeting a pick for themselves, they have reportedly shown interest in USC big man Onyeka Okongwu, who is projected to go right around that 4-5-6 range.
Reports also emerged last week that the Celtics were trying to get into the top 10 for a pick they would then flip to the Pelicans in a potential trade for guard Jrue Holiday.
Those reports indicated the Celtics would move all three of their first-round picks in order to move up, so it seems like including a third first-round pick in a deal with Cleveland wouldn't be an issue if that's what it takes.
Pluto's report, however, doesn't mention whether the Cavs are even interested in making such a trade.
