Hill has actually spent more time in Boston than anywhere throughout his 18-year MLB career. His first stint lasted from 2010 to 2012, then he returned in 2015 before coming home one last time for his age 42 season in 2022.
All told, Hill has posted a 3.31 ERA in 185 innings of work for the Red Sox. But in 2022 — during which he started all 26 of his appearances for the Red Sox (the most appearances he’s made for the franchise in a single season) — Hill logged a 4.27 ERA.
