The Connor Seabold conversation just got more interesting

Remember Connor Seabold?

He was the other pitcher who came over to the Red Sox along with Nick Pivetta in the trade that sent Brandon Workman and Heath Hembree to the Phillies last August.

Up until July this season, however, we hadn't seen the 25-year-old pitch real games in the Red Sox organization thanks to an elbow issue. And once he started his stint with the Worcester Red Sox, it wasn't as if he was forcing himself into the conversation for a big league debut.

But now, things are slowly starting to get interesting when it comes to Seabold and some sort of major league role before the end of the 2021 regular season.

Seabold absolutely dominated in his latest outing, a six-inning, scoreless stint against Scranton/Wilkes-Barre in which he allowed just two baserunners (walk, single) while striking out 10.

The righty's fastball command was on-point, with Seabold using all four of his pitches effectively. (The fastball velocity sits between 93-95 mph.) His go-to is still a difference-making changeup that got swings and misses on seven of 10 strikes managed with the pitch.

Considering the potential need for starting pitching depth heading into the season's final couple of months, the evolution of Seabold will continue to be a priority.
