For the latest on the Patriots, check out WEEI and Audacy's "1st and Foxborough."

The Patriots are currently last in the AFC East and one game behind the rival New York Jets in the wildcard standings coming into Sunday’s game. But if you’re a betting person who knows your history, you’re probably putting money on that situation getting flipped by the time the weekend’s over.

Why? Because the Patriots simply do not lose to the Jets in Foxboro. No, seriously.

This chart shared on NFL Network’s “Good Morning, Football!” on Thursday lays out a period of Bill Belichick-led domination of the Jets cruel enough to almost make you feel bad. (Okay, not really.)

Since 2009, the Patriots are 13-0 at Gillette Stadium against their hard-luck division rivals, with the Jets’ last road win in New England coming in 2008 by a score of 34-31 in overtime.

During that time, New England has outscored New York by almost 20 points per game, outgained their neighbors to the south by close to 90 yards and won the turnover battle by a resounding 28:5 margin.

Last year’s iteration of the annual Patriots’ homecoming day victory: a 54-13 trouncing that featured Mac Jones throwing for 307 yards and two touchdowns and scores from three different running backs, including multi-TD games from Damien Harris and J.J. Taylor.

Zach Wilson didn’t make it to the end of that contest, going down with an early injury after a decent start, and he seems ready to prove himself a difference-maker this time around. Jones, meanwhile, hasn’t done much worth writing home about this season in a highly dysfunctional offense.

Additionally, the Jets have proven themselves a legitimately good team in 2022 – far from the pushovers they’ve been in the past.

But the smart money still says you should bet on Belichick and the Patriots when these two teams face off this Sunday.
