PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — A Bucks County woman was taken into police custody and charged Monday with three counts of attempted homicide for allegedly shooting her two children and trying to shoot a neighbor.
Upper Makefield Township police issued an alert earlier Monday morning warning the public to be on the lookout for 38-year-old Trinh Nguyen, after police were dispatched to a location on Timber Ridge Road just after 7 a.m. Monday morning.
The District Attorney's Office said, citing a 22-year-old victim who was not hurt, that Nguyen gave him a box of photos and "asked him to give the box to her ex-husband, who he worked with."
Nguyen then allegedly pointed a revolver in the neighbor's face and pulled the trigger twice, but it didn't fire. The man disarmed her, and she fled in a minivan.
According to the district attorney's office, police then went to her home with a neighbor and found her boys, 9 and 13 years old, both shot in the head. They were taken to a local hospital and placed on life support.
If the boys do not survive, "we will upgrade the charges to two counts of homicide," said Bucks County District Attorney Matt Weintraub.
The Bucks County District Attorney’s Office said Nguyen was apprehended at about 11:30 a.m. at a church parking lot in Washington's Crossing.
As of Monday afternoon, she had yet to be arraigned.
