Just a few days after teasing fans that her first single in over two years would arrive on the upcoming Top Gun: Maverick soundtrack, Lady Gaga just kicked the tires and lit the fires on her new song, "Hold My Hand."

Last week, Lady Gaga shared the single art for her newest release on social media, saying, "when I wrote this song for 'Top Gun: Maverick,' I didn't even realize the multiple layers it spanned across the film's heart, my own psyche, and the nature of the world we've been living in." Today, we've been gifted with the singer's full, almost four-minute "love letter to the world during and after a very hard time."
Gaga's newest offering was produced by herself and longtime collaborator BloodPop, with additional help from Benjamin Rice. while the film version received additional layers and scoring by Harold Faltermeyer and Hans Zimmer. Top Gun: Maverick, the highly-anticipated sequel to the beloved 1984 flick following the life and love of U.S. Naval Aviator Pete Mitchell, played by Tom Cruise, is set to premiere in theaters on May 27.
In other Gaga news: The 13-time GRAMMY winner is currently kicking it around sunny Las Vegas, rocking a blue bikini and showing off "somebody's [apple juice emoji]" in an over-the-shoulder snap she posted by the pool over the weekend, in between sets of her Jazz and Piano residency at Park MGM's Dolby Live theater.
