A 21-year-old man was injured, but he is in stable condition. A 48-year-old man was killed.
Police Inspector D.F. Pace said a group of about five people was watching the basketball game.
“They were all seated here. My understanding is they also had a big screen set up. They were watching the basketball game at the time and eating and drinking at the time that the shooting occurred,” he said.
A hot dog cart set up nearby was struck by at least seven gunshots.
Police are looking for a dark-gray Honda Accord that was seen driving from Glenwood Avenue onto Allegheny Avenue.
In addition, police say a 17-year-old was killed outside a Chinese food store near 61st Street and Buist Avenue just after 1 a.m. Friday in Southwest Philadelphia.
About an hour earlier, at 56th and Pentridge streets in the Kingsessing neighborhood, an off-duty Philadelphia police officer was carjacked. He fired his gun at the carjacker, but the suspect got away with his SUV.
