PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — Police have identified the Burlington County woman who died after police say she was hit by a car near a busy area of Cape May over the weekend.

On Sunday around 4:15 p.m., Cape May police were responding to a call about an erratic driver when an officer reportedly saw a Nissan Pathfinder, which officials weren’t pursuing at the time, hit a pedestrian on Lafayette Street, not far from the shore town’s busy Washington Street Mall.

The pedestrian died at the scene. She has since been identified as 63-year-old Eva Wolfe from Marlton.

Investigators say the driver, 51-year-old Michael Fitzpatrick, from Montgomery County, and a juvenile were in the car. They were taken to the hospital and treated for injuries.

No charges have been filed yet, and the incident is still under investigation.
