PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — Murder charges were upheld Tuesday against a Delaware man accused of killing a security guard in October 2021 in Philadelphia’s Logan neighborhood.

Officials say Wayne Dorylis walked into a multi-services building and shot Nassir Day, who was working at the front security desk. Day tackled the gunman but was killed.

In court on Tuesday, witnesses described the suspect as wearing several “makeshift guns” around his neck that day and saying, “This place made me do it” — referring to the services building that included a welfare office and a kidney dialysis center.

Dorylis is being held on murder and gun charges. He is next due in court in June.
