I'm all about saving the bees but this is crazy!

Virginia Wildlife Management and Control said they got a call to revove a beehive from an unusual place - the ceiling of an apartment in Richmond! AND this hive was 8 feet long! Additionally, they said the hive had produced 80 to 100 pounds of honey! However, only about 15 to 20 pounds was able to be salvaged.

Rich Perry, the owner of the wildlife control company said the hive was not fully occupied but could possibly support 100,000 to 150,000 bees. He said the company has a "no kill" policy and actively looked for the queen of the colony. But, after an extensive search for the queen they could not locate her and they were unable to save the hive.

It makes me very sad that the hive was unable to be saved but I know they did their best. You can learn more about ways you can help bees (who very much need our help) HERE
