There are plenty of performances lined up for the 2020 GRAMMY Awards, with artists being honored for their talent across the evening. They are the stars of the night, from honoring career achievement like Aerosmith to showcasing bright new breakthrough moments from Billie Eilish. But behind the fireworks on stage and the vocal acrobatics that each singer spotlights, there’s a song.
Song of the Year is special because it honors the songwriter. Sometimes that means the voice you’re familiar with, but often it also means another artist that doesn’t get their name on the marquee or a red carpet picture on the way to the awards. This year’s Song of the Year nominees are no different, with names like Lizzo and Lady Gaga getting a hand behind the scenes, long before the song becomes a force and a favorite.
It’s your turn to vote for which song you think should win Song of the Year, but first a reminder about each of this year’s contenders. These are the nominees for Song of the Year at the 2020 GRAMMY Awards.
