LISTEN NOW: Parker McCollum shares how music helps his mental health

Parker recently shared he turns to music to tend to his mental health when life’s got him feeling overwhelmed. “I do use music to care for my mental health,” he said in an interview surrounding Audacy’s mental health initiative — I’m Listening. “There’s a long list of songs that are some of my all-time favorites. I kinda like to get in my feels.”

Parker shared there’s music to fit every mood and allows him to escape his own mind when needed.

“It’s almost like an emotional roller coaster through different songs,” he said. “It’s very, very peaceful for me when I find a song that I’m obsessed with. Gives you 3 and a half minutes to take your mind off everything else and just think about that song.”

Audacy's I’m Listening initiative aims to encourage those who are dealing with mental health issues to understand they are not alone. If you or anyone you know is struggling with depression or anxiety, know that someone is always there. Additionally, the Suicide & Crisis Lifeline is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week at 988.
