Free Samples Returning to Costco in June

After suspending free samples in March due to Coronavirus, Costco is planning to bring them back starting in June, but with some modifications according to the store's CFO Richard Galanti.

Galanti said on an earnings call on Thursday that a slow roll-out of a new free sample process will begin by mid-June, reports ABC7.

On the call, Galanti also said that more items are going to be available in the food court after weeks of operating with a limited menu since returning earlier this month.

While he clarified that shoppers will no longer be able to pick up samples from a tray, Galanti did not specify how the system will operate once samples are re-introduced.

In mid-May, the store relaxed some of the policies it introduced coronavirus safety concerns, ending its two-shopper per card limit and once again selling pizza by the slice.

The company requires everyone in its warehouses to wear masks.
