Patriots Reportedly Declined to Pay Antonio Brown Signing Bonus

Antonio Brown was scheduled to receive part of his signing bonus from the Patriots on Monday, but that did not happen.

According to Pro Football Talk, the Patriots did not pay Brown $5 million, the first installment of his $9 million signing bonus. The deadline for the team to do this was Monday.

Brown was released by the Patriots last Friday amid multiple allegations. They will argue the wide receiver breached the terms of his contract by withholding information when it came to the impending lawsuit being filed against him. While with the Patriots, Brown sent threatening text messages to a woman who accused him of sexual misconduct, which came out in in a Sports Illustrated story.

It is expected Brown will file a grievance to get all of his $9 million.

Following his release, Brown went on a Twitter tirade Sunday morning, which included taking a shot at owner Robert Kraft (most of those tweets have since been deleted).

Brown played in one game with the Patriots -- Week 2 in Miami -- and he will be paid for that game.
