North Carolina's historic national semifinal win over archrival Duke manifested championship-game energy with high-stakes drama before an electric crowd inside Caesars Superdome on Saturday. But unfortunately for the momentum-riding Tar Heels, only Monday called for celebratory net-cutting. And the team squandered its opportunity to celebrate a title in gut-wrenching fashion.

New Orleans hosted the biggest comeback win in NCAA title game history, as Kansas miraculously overcame a 16-point deficit and outlasted North Carolina, 72-69, to claim the 2022 crown. In an epic tale of two halves, the top-seeded Jayhawks orchestrated a shocking 31-10 run midway through the second half, forcing a nail-biting finish that calumniated in an all-time Tar Heels chokejob.

"College basketball, there's highs and lows. Teams go up and down, go on a run. So, I'm not all that shocked. And now Bill Self, he can walk around and say, 'Yeah, I made an adjustment.' Maybe it got that monkey off his back... Congrats to the Jayhawks. There's a lot of people, mostly Duke fans, who are actually happy by the results..."
