In this edition of Top-10 Stats of the Week, Lakers star LeBron James finds the fountain of youth, North Carolina gives Mike Krzyzewski a footnote he doesn't want, Spurs head coach Gregg Popovich is on the cusp of league history, and Celtics star Jayson Tatum passes Larry Bird at just 24 years old.
56/10 -- In the Lakers' 124-116 home win over the Warriors this past Saturday, LeBron James went off for 56 points and 10 rebounds. He's the oldest player in NBA history to ever accomplish this mark in a game.
3rd -- LeBron's 56 points marks the third-highest scoring game of his career. Pretty impressive, considering the fact he's played more than 1,600 games in 19 seasons.
5 -- Speaking of another league star who scored 50-plus points during the weekend, Jayson Tatum had 54 points for the Celtics in their home win over the Nets on Sunday. Between the regular season and playoffs, Tatum now has five 50-point games for the team. Tatum also passed franchise legend Larry Bird for the most 50-point games in Celtics history. He's 24 years old.
14-2 -- The Celtics happen to be red-hot, as they've won 14 of their last 16 games and now own the fifth seed in the East. An impressive streak, since they were a .500 team over their first 50 games of the regular season.
0-4 -- As for the Warriors, they're going in the opposite direction of late. They started off scorching hot, and are now spiraling. They were 5-1 in October and 13-2 in November. So far this March, they're 0-4.
2 -- The Knicks have won two road games in the past 48 hours. Prior to this stretch, they had recorded just two road wins in all of 2022.
46 -- Knicks star forward Julius Randle produced a career-high 46 points with 10 rebounds in their win over the Kings on Monday. It's just the third time that a Knicks player has recorded this stat line in the last 30 years.
1,335 -- With the Spurs' win over the Lakers on Monday, Gregg Popovich has now won 1,335 games as an NBA head coach. This milestone ties Don Nelson for the most wins by an NBA head coach in history. Popovich also did it in five less seasons, too.
31 -- Last Friday, DeMarcus Cousins scored 31 points in 23 minutes of action. That's the fewest minutes played while recording a 30-point game in Nuggets history. Not too shabby for someone who's played for seven different teams in the past five seasons.
3rd -- North Carolina surprisingly spoiled Mike Krzyzewski's last home game as Duke's head coach on Saturday, winning 94-81 at Cameron Indoor Stadium. The 13-point margin of defeat happened to be Blue Devils' third-largest loss to an unranked opponent under Coach K.
