Robbie, a founding member of the Winnepeg, Canada-based rock behemoth Bachman-Turner Overdrive, along with his brothers Randy and Tim, as well as bassist Fred Turner, passed away at the age of 69 this week, as announced by Randy Bachman on Twitter on Friday, January 13. No cause has been given.

"Another sad departure. The pounding beat behind BTO, my little brother Robbie has joined Mum, Dad & brother Gary on the other side. Maybe Jeff Beck needs a drummer! He was an integral cog in our rock ‘n’ roll machine and we rocked the world together," Randy said, breaking the sad news to his followers, while also giving a nod to the passing of guitar great Jeff Beck earlier this week.

BTO, best known for their classic hits "Taking Care of Business," and (b-b-b-b-baby) "You Ain’t Seen Nothing Yet," were inducted into the Canadian Music Hall Of Fame in 2014. Robbie Bachman is survived by his wife, Chrissy.
