Underwood took to Instagram with a heartfelt post tributing her dog who she shared was by her side through her rise to fame, growing family and many tours.

“Last night my sweet Ace left this world, he will forever live on in our hearts and be forever missed,” she wrote. “He was there for me when I was on my own trying to figure out life when it was at its craziest!”

She continued, “He was with me through 3 houses, 6 tours and 2 kids…always ready to snuggle and play… through all the highs and lows. He was a true friend and a good boy till the very end. I love you, sweet Ace… see you on the other side.”

Fellow Country stars and dog lovers filled Carrie’s feed with condolences and love. Miranda Lambert sympathized with Carrie writing, “So sorry. I know how bad that hurts. Sendin’ love your way.”

Carly Pearce and Caitlyn Smith were among the other Country celebs to send condolences Underwood’s way.

Carrie sang through the heartache as she gave a powerful performance of her brand new single, “Ghost Story,” at the awards ceremony in Las Vegas, but let the tears flow as she accepted her GRAMMY for Best Gospel Album with Roots.
