Back in 2009, rockers Creed reunited for an album and tour that lasted into 2012, but it's been all Alter Bridge, all day ever since for fans of both bands that include some of the same members.

Drummer Scott Phillips recently spoke with Anne Erickson on the Audio Ink Podcast promoting the latter, Alter Bridge and the band's 2020 EP Walk The Sky 2.0, and confirmed recent speculation about the possibility of the old band getting back together.

Apparently it all started after a new photo showed up on Creed's Facebook profile in June, which came as news to Phillips.

“I didn’t know that had happened,” Phillips says about the photo. “That’s interesting. I’m the worst when it comes to social media. I go through phases where I’m into it for about two days, and then I don’t pick it up for about two months. But, that being said, there’s always talk every now and then of the possibility of us getting back together and doing some stuff. We’re all in a good spot right now where we feel like we have a good relationship amongst the four of us.”

“Obviously, Mark [Tremonti] and Brian [Marshall] and I are in the same band together," he says about the band's shared players, "but Scott [Stapp] seems to be doing really, really well. There’s some dialogue. We tend to check up on each other when it’s birthdays and holidays, things like that. So, there has been some chatter, and there’s no specific timetable for anything or no specific plans, but it’s a possibility down the road."

He says the plan now is just to let it "play out naturally" and see what happens.

Singer Scott Stapp had struggled with mental health and addiction following his tenure with Creed, but made a glorious comeback just last year, announcing five years of sobriety and a new solo single off his latest album, The Space Between the Shadows.

Hopefully this new talk of possibilities means Scott is continuing down the straight and narrow, and will be up for melting some faces when live music returns in the near future.
