Not only does Saweetie deliver a verse on the song, but she and Stefani come together for a music video that is giving us old-school "Hollaback Girl" vibes like no other.

Now that Gwen has officially reintroduced herself, she is treating us to revamped, iconic looks and visuals that come straight out of the early 2000s, when her solo career took flight.

Sophie Muller, who has previously worked on videos for Gwen directed Stefani’s “Slow Clap” music video. Muller also worked on No Doubt’s “Don’t Speak” video and Gwen’s “Wind It Up” visual.

Saweetie delves right in to give us her signature unapologetic flare throughout her verse, serving lyrics like, “My favorite position is CEO check the stats/ Me and Gwen Stefani snatchin’ wigs on the track.” Plus the rapper pays tribute to Gwen’s early days with the line, “I ain’t no Hollaback b****/ Now I got it, I ain’t gotta act rich.”

In a comment to Variety Gwen discussed how her collaboration with Saweetie all came together. She explains, “I saw on the internet that Saweetie had posted her listening to my song ‘Luxurious,’ so then I wrote to the guy helping me find a feature, ‘Oh look, it’s in the air, Saweetie’s listening to my song.’” She continues, “He said, ‘Oh, you want her to hop on your song?’ I said, ‘Sure!’ and then literally the next day she posts, ‘I’m going in to work with someone, here’s a clue: she’s iconic.'”

The same day that the “Best Friend” rapper agreed to appear on Gwen’s track, the artist immediately laid down her verse. However, most of the video for the new song had already been shot, but Stefani decided to reshoot the “Slow Clap” video in order to make sure Saweetie could appear in it.

Gwen shared, “It’s just fun because I haven’t really worked with a lot of female rappers besides Eve, and at that time we were more like peers.

This is like she’s like literally so much younger, and to have two girls that are from different genres of music — that’s what I love about it.”
