“Get your game on, go play,” but make it emo! Joe Jonas just revealed the strange and somewhat intense pre-show routine he engages in before hitting the stage with the Jonas Brothers. During a Wednesday night (March 23) appearance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, Jonas stopped by to discuss his new MTV reality series Becoming a Popstar, which premieres on March 24, and along the way, he shared some fascinating tidbits about himself.

Of his preshow hype-up ritual Joe told Fallon he does “the normal jumping jacks, push-ups, somebody slaps you in the face. But there’s also, for a couple years now, I like to do a very theatrical version of “All Star” by Smash Mouth.”
He continued, “And I find it really warms my vocals up and gets me in the right mindset.” Well as one can assume, the comedian turned talk show host had a mic in hand, ready for Jonas to show the world his pump-up rendition of the hit 1999 track.
Clad in a suave burgundy suit paired with a hot pink button-down and extra chest hair on display, Joe delivered an almost Shakespearian, Broadway-worthy version of the song as Fallon’s house band, The Roots, gave him a beat. The singer brought the audience to a roaring cheer, of course.
Besides giving fans the best Smash Mouth cover of all time, Joe also spoke about various projects he and his brothers are working on. The artist touched on the JoBros’ Las Vegas residency. At first, he joked, “For us, it was, ‘how do we get closer to Celine Dion?’” However, the real reason the brothers are heading to Vegas’ Dolby Live at Park MGM in June for a special five-night residency was because they were all able to find a chunk of time to do these shows together and finally take on Sin City. “We saw an opening and trying to balance three brothers’ schedule was challenging, so we said, ‘You know what?’ Let’s go to Vegas finally,” Joe explained.
Jonas also spoke about his group, DNCE. In February the group teamed up with Kygo to release “Dancing Feet.” Jonas and the group have some upcoming live performances slated with the famed EDM producer, but he joked that he’s a bit apprehensive because Kygo’s schedule runs way later than Jonas typically operates, with set times occurring in the A.M. hours and dinners scheduled for midnight.
