Pat Sajak will relinquish "Wheel of Fortune" hosting duties after the show's 41st season.
Sajak has hosted the syndicated game show since 1981.
“Well, the time has come,” Sajak said in a Twitter post. “I’ve decided that our 41st season, which begins in September, will be my last. It’s been a wonderful ride, and I’ll have more to say in the coming months. Many thanks to you all. (If nothing else, it’ll keep the clickbait sites busy!)”
Sajak will step down after the 2023-24 season.
The game show mainstay began heading the program over 40 years ago with longtime hosting partner Vanna White.
"As the host of `Wheel of Fortune,' Pat has entertained millions of viewers across America for 40 amazing years," said Suzanne Prete, executive vice president of game shows at Sony Pictures Television, according to NBC News.
“Wheel of Fortune” began in 1975, originally hosted by Chuck Woolery.
A replacement for Sajak has not been announced.
