The Trackhouse Racing Team added a member to its ownership group on Friday, bringing in one Mr. Armando Perez — better known around town as Pitbull -- and it all went down on his 40th birthday.

“As soon as I met [founder and co-owner] Justin [Marks], [team president] Ty Norris and [driver] Daniel [Suarez], we were on the same page,” Pitbull said in a team release. “They welcomed me aboard, and now we’re going to show the world NASCAR is not only a sport but it’s a culture.”

“We are creating and compelling a movement of positivity and possibility, using the platform and excitement of sports and music. Through NASCAR and our partnership with Pitbull," Marks said, "we are going to have the attention of a global demographic that is ready to be inspired into action for themselves, their families and their future.”

The "I Know You Want Me" singer will also be on hand as the Grand Marshal for the 63rd Daytona 500 scheduled for February 14.

In a post on his social channels, Pitbull was thrilled to share the news saying, "It’s an honor to be named Grand Marshal for the 63rd DAYTONA 500. It’s exciting to mix culture, music and sports into motor racing. I’m humbled how embracing the @nascar community and fans around the world have been about me joining the @teamtrackhouse family. Unity at its finest. So let’s get ready to start engines, Dale!"
