Is rock and roll a St. Louis creation? Rolling Stone magazine declared in 2010, "Fifty-five years ago, Chuck Berry invented rock and roll." In 1926, Berry was born at 2520 Goode Avenue and lived and performed in St. Louis his entire life. Berry's plaque in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame states, "While no individual can be said to have invented rock and roll, Chuck Berry arguably did more than anyone else to put the pieces together."
