Hunting tales of a massive 16-point elk roaming New Mexico's high desert, memories of some wild times in Vietnam and why the VA Medicinal Cannabis Act of 2018 never made it off the House floor - those are just a few of the things we talked about with Congressman and Vietnam veteran, Rep. Steve Pearce (R-NM).
The former Air Force pilot, who is running for Governor of New Mexico explained why he thinks veterans should be able to hunt and fish in New Mexico for free, "It's just a way for us to say that we respect the obligations we ask vets to take on. Every veteran at some point signed an agreement that is payable up to and including the cost of his/her life, " said Pearce. "I'm just saying New Mexico has tremendous hunting and fishing, so let's just do this to honor our veterans and say we appreciate what they do for us."
