The United War Veterans Council and VA hospitals in the Big Apple hope you can help veterans feel some love this Valentine’s Day.
Here’s how you can help:
Get your creative juices flowing by designing unique Valentine’s Day cards which will be distributed at VA Hospitals throughout New York City. Keep the glitter on the shelf, though!
Send your Valentine’s to Valentines for Veterans c/o United War Veterans Council, 245 W Houston Street, Suite 208, New York, New York 10014. Postmark by Feb. 8. If you want to help deliver the cards in person, email volunteer@uwvc.org.
Also, when you buy your Girl Scout cookies, you can opt to have them shipped directly to VA Hospitals in New York City by having them mailed to VA NY Harbor Healthcare System, c/p Yvette Clinton, chief of voluntary services, Brooklyn Campus 800 Poly Place, Brooklyn, NY 11209.
If you live in the New York City area you can also volunteer to pass out the cookies and cards to veterans from Feb. 14 to Feb. 18 by signing up at https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSfCg4kE6P3pk2s3sm79uok78lHfUS679vvY3pcKHWuVuiFncw/viewform
