As a Marine Corps Combat Correspondent, Micah Snead photographed Operation Iraqi Freedom on two deployments.
As a veteran, he still wanted to serve so he joined up with the Waterboys, an organization that brings together combat veterans and professional athletes to bring life-sustaining water to communities in Africa.
Founded by Philadelphia Eagle Chris Long, the organization creates a team of players and vets who summit Mt. Kilimanjaro and raise funds for drilling wells.
In the gallery above you can see images from their 2018 journey to the summit.
