Recorded before his passing on September 1, Jimmy Buffett's Equal Strain on All Parts, out November 3, features 14 tracks including collabs with Emmylou Harris, the Preservation Hall Jazz Band, and more. Fans can check out the three all-new teases, “Like My Dog,” “Bubbles Up,” and “My Gummie Just Kicked In,” right now -- the last of which features his pal Sir Paul McCartney of The Beatles on bass.
Seen in the behind-the-scenes music video for “My Gummie Just Kicked In” above, "I was very happy to have played on one of his latest songs," McCartney shared on social media following Buffett's passing. "We had a real fun session and he played me some of his new songs. One, in particular, I loved was the song, ‘Bubbles Up’. And I told him that not only was the song great but the vocal was probably the best I’ve heard him sing ever. He turned a diving phrase that is used to train people underwater into a metaphor for life when you’re confused and don’t know where you are just follow the bubbles - they’ll take you up to the surface and straighten you out right away."
Lastly, in the third tease "Like My Dog," the Beach Bum muses how his pup never complains about him lounging on the couch, and can never be found fighting with her sister -- and how he just wants someone to show him love the way his dog does. Perfect for Parrot Heads to put on repeat as the summer comes to a close.
Pre-orders for Equal Strain on All Parts -- produced by Coral Reefer Band members Michael Utley and Mac McAnally -- on CD and two-LP aqua-colored vinyl are available now.
