Scorpions frontman Klaus Meine took part in an interview with Die Zeit and revealed the band changed the lyrics to their hit song “Wind Of Change” in light of the ongoing conflict between Russia and Ukraine.

“To sing ‘Wind of Change’ as we have always sung it, that’s not something I could imagine anymore,” Meine said. “It simply isn’t right to romanticize Russia with lyrics like: ‘I follow the Moskva / Down to Gorky Park… Let your balalaika sing.’”

Instead, the band has decided to alter the lyrics to say “Now listen to my heart / It says Ukrainia / Waiting for the wind to change.” During their performances, the new lyrics are projected onto a screen behind the band.

Later on this summer, Scorpions and Whitesnake will embark on a joint tour that’ll take the bands all across North America. The 24-date tour kicks off on August 21 in Toronto and will stretch out over the next two months before wrapping things up on October 21 in Las Vegas.

Tickets for each show are on sale now. Check out a full list of tour dates below and grab tickets here.
