Like many artists, Phish was forced to cancel their 2020 tour due to COVID-19. To make sure they could continue sharing in the groove with their fans, Phish launched the Dinner and a Movie webcast series where they dug into their stash and replayed memorable concerts.
During the midst of this webcast series, Phish surprised fans (again, sorry, phans) with the announcement of a brand new studio album.
Sigma Oasis was released on April 1st and marked Phish’s fifteenth studio album.
“We went to the studio last November [2019] up at the barn, Trey’s barn, and had so much fun just playing songs for about a week up there,” Page McConnell said during the album’s release party. “We’ve been working on it steadily ever since.”
