Lake Tahoe officials are urging travelers to wait until it's safe to visit again.

Chris Fiore with the City of South Lake Tahoe told Fox 40 that they're asking travelers to refrain from visiting the area because they'd like to reopen sooner rather than later. Seeing as tourism runs the area, the health and safety of its businesses is crucial to reopening again.

This plea follows the announcement that the Greater Sacramento region will enter the stay-at-home order just before midnight on Thursday night.
