From time to time, I find myself wondering what older Bachelor stars have been up to. When researching Jake Pavelka, I was stunned by my findings of his life BEFORE appearing on the show.
Pavelka starred as The Bachelor in season 14 and was hailed as a single airline pilot from Dallas, Texas, looking for love. While he was indeed an airline pilot, he was actually an actor before (and after) appearing on the show.
According to his IMDB page, Pavelka played "Young Cordell Walker" in Walker, Texas Ranger in 1999 under the stage name "Jake Landrum." The following year, he played "Young Joshua McCord" in the movie The President's Man. In 2010, the same year season 14 of The Bachelor aired, he played "Toby" in an episode of Drop Dead Diva and "Bryce Wharton Powell III" in a few episodes of Party Girl Plus One.
Since appearing on The Bachelor and Bachelor Pad, Pavelka has completely dropped his career as a real-life airline pilot and has been riding the wave of playing a "pretend pilot" on The Bold and the Beautiful from 2011-2014.
I just think it's wild how all of this is just now coming to light. I mean, was I blind? Lol. It seems like these days, only actors and Instagram influencers get cast on the show. Apparently things weren't all that different back in 2010.
Now, I know you're wondering what Jake Pavelka's up to now.
These days, he's on Cameo letting all of his 5,000 Instagram followers know that he makes more money playing a pretend pilot than being an actual pilot, because we were definitely all wondering.
Back in May 2020, he let us all know that he'd sprained his ankle in quarantine.
In October, he checked in from somewhere in Arkansas to tempt all of us with some Hibachi on the deck.
So, now you know what Jake Pavelka has been up to.
