An MMA fighter's painful, blistering burns following a cryotherapy treatment serve as a cautionary tale for getting the trendy muscle therapy treatment.
Athena Martinez, an Australian Top Team member, shared photos of her burns on Instagram, following the disastrous cryotherapy treatment on Thursday. The treatment, which involves exposing onself from the neck down in a tank of -195C liquid nitrogen for six minutes, cost $100 and left her in extreme pain.
Martinez required an emergency skin graft to her legs to treat the damage caused.
