Close friends and family of Britney Spears (no, NOT her parents or her sister) planned an intervention for her amid alleged mental health and substance abuse concerns. One of her close contacts told TMZ, "I'm afraid she's gonna die."
TMZ says Britney's manager rented a house in the LA area for a period of several months with the intention of bringing Britney there for an intervention. Britney's husband Sam Asghari, an interventionist, and doctors were planned to be present to convince her she needs help.
TMZ is told that Britney's parents and sons were not involved in the plan, which was supposed to happen on Tuesday this week.
Apparently the plan was for Britney to live in the rental home for as long as 2 months while she received medical and psychological help. According to TMZ's "multiple sources," people close to Britney are concerned by her "erratic, volatile behavior" and that she's allegedly "taking meds that 'hype her up.'"
On Tuesday, sometime before the intervention was set to take place, Britney reportedly became "somewhat aware" of the plan. For whatever reason, the intervention idea was dropped.
TMZ's sources told them that Britney allegedly agreed to meet with a doctor on Wednesday afternoon instead, and the meeting "went well."
