Cal Expo will operate as a mass COVID-19 vaccination site, says California Governor Gavin Newsom (via KRCA).
Last week, California said it will aim to give vaccines to 1 million more people within the state in a 10-day period. To gear up for that, Cal Expo along with the Los Angeles Dodgers and San Diego Padres stadiums will open as large-scale vaccination sites this week.
Nationwide, vaccinating Americans is off to a slower start than anticipated. The goal here in California is to get Californians vaccinated "fast, equitable, and safe" across the state, according to Newsom.
