True crime enthusiasts can now investigate cases and see crime scenes like never before with a new augmented reality app.

I learned about the CrimeDoor app just recently from a press release that was sent to me. I love that it offers users an immersive experience with hours of relevant videos, photos, podcasts, and case evidence of murder, missing persons, and mysterious death cases, because that's an experience I've definitely never had before. It allows users to enter the crime scenes virtually right from their phone.

The app officially launched in November and features crime scenes from Jeffrey Epstein, the Menendez brothers, Indiana's Delphi murders, and Southern California's Rebecca Zahau. On February 17, the Keddie cabin murders will be added to the app.

While we usually see the case from the suspect's perspective, CrimeDoor aims to highlight the victim's point of view.

"CrimeDoor does not celebrate killers but gives a voice to the victims," said Neil Mandt, founder of CrimeDoor. "Our attention to detail in recreating the crime scenes is our highest concern. Helping to solve a crime would be the most important moment in my life, and I feel confident this technology will be pivotal in doing just that."

CrimeDoor is available through the App store and Google Play.
