As speculation swirls leading up to season 17 of The Bachelorette, I wanted to share a few facts about the next filming location in New Mexico.
On Wednesday, Reality Steve confirmed via Twitter that the next season will film at the Hyatt Regency Tamaya Resort & Spa, which is just outside of Albuquerque, New Mexico. Many people have been questioning whether this is the same resort that High School Musical was filmed, however, Reality Steve confirmed in his welcome room on the Clubhouse app that this is not the same location.
Taking a look at the resort's website, here are five things that we DO know, along with my theories & ideas for the season that are absolutely not confirmed.
1. The resort is located on 550 acres of the Native American Santa Ana Pueblo between the Sandia Mountains and the Rio Grande River, according to its website.
2. According to the resort's website, on-site restaurant(s), room service, fitness center, pool, spa, Camp Hyatt, and business services are all unavailable until further notice. This is PROBABLY because of COVID-19 restrictions, but I'm also wondering if they're also quarantining/prepping the resort for production (I hear it begins in March, which isn't too far away.)
3. Speaking of amenities, all the hotel features at the resort include the following: 350 guest rooms (including 23 suites), complimentary Wi-Fi, five restaurants, three heated outdoor pools and one whirlpool, Tamaya Mist Spa & Salon, 24 hour gym, yoga studio, indoor and outdoor event space, Twin Warriors Golf Club, and on-site shops.
4. There are horse stables on the resort, and not just for trail rides. According to the resort's website, they also offer "Yoga & Horse Experiences," so I'm guessing we'll probably be seeing more tantric yoga dates on the season. OR, maybe they'll keep it G-rated and have a meaningful and educational equine therapy date with these rescue horses.
5. There are definitely hot air balloons. The resort's website lists hot air ballooning with Rainbow Ryders as a way to "view the resort, Sandia Mountains and Rio Grande River Valley." I'm assuming that we'll be seeing at least one more hot air balloon date, but hopefully no more crash landings.
Those are just five points here, but many of the production details are a mystery.
