California health officials recommend that all Californians, regardless of vaccination status, wear a mask in public again as COVID-19 cases continue to rise.
Fox 40 reports that the California Department of Public Health made the announcement Wednesday following national-level guidance for those in the U.S. to mask up indoors in areas with "substantial or high" virus transmission.
Right now, Sacramento, Sutter, Yuba, Nevada, Solano, Stanislaus, and Plumas counties show a high rate of virus transmission, according to CDPH.
Yolo County's mask mandate goes into effect on Friday.
